 Family TentWe have many fun activities for Mom, Dad and the kids. You can build and paint your own Celtic “sword” and shield and make puppets. We have face painting and funny balloon-tying, including balloon sabers! We sing songs and tell Celtic tales. The Family Tent is open all day from 9:00 A.M. to 5:00 P.M. All we ask you to do is have fun!
The Festival’s Children's Games are held Saturday afternoon. They are modeled after the adult Highland Games, and are open to children 15 years old, and younger. The Festival program will provide information regarding times and locations for the Children's Games. Children may compete in several events within their age bracket: 5 and under, 6-7, 8-9, 10-11 and 12 and older. The events include foot races, bale toss, shot-put (brick throwing), discus (Frisbee), and the "caber" toss (cabers are represented by hollow cardboard tubes). Ribbons are awarded for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place finishers. All others get participant ribbons. The field is usually crowded; therefore, multiple events happen simultaneously throughout the day. We encourage all children attending the Festival to participate! Everyone who does is sure to have a great time!
